Taking place in the 18th century, this historical fantasy novel tells the story of Monty, a young bisexual British Lord who embarks on a tour of Europe. He travels with Percy, his best friend and secret crush, as well as Felicity, his aroace sister who wants to become a doctor.

This book demonstrates how a character can be written as aro and ace even in a context where those words don’t yet exist. The sequel, The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy, is centered around the aroace character, Felicity.
